About the role

The Senior Tax Analyst researches and analyzes international and domestic tax law, determines current tax liabilities, and prepares various international and domestic tax returns. Conducts complex supporting analyses, serves as contact and provides in-depth support during external and internal financial and tax audits, and responds to more complex taxation issues.

What you’ll be doing
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance to tax law in the preparation of local, state, federal and/or franchise income, sales and use, value-added, property, and international tax returns. 
  • Performs and/or verifies estimated payment calculations for monthly, quarterly and annual filings, and is responsible for the accuracy and timely submittal of payments.
  • Performs complex tax savings analyses and makes recommendations for minimizing taxes by proper application of tax exemptions, claims, credits, abatements and other tax favorable methods.
  • Provides in-depth support for external and internal audits by gathering, analyzing, and reporting data to management and business partners.
  • Coaches, advises and may oversee the work of less experienced tax analysts.
  • Researches various topics related to filings and projects and communicates information to management and business partners.
  • Independently fields and addresses complex inquiries from internal and/or external business partners and clients.
  • Stays abreast of current trends, laws, rules and regulations related to taxes and their impact on the organization.
  • Advises internal business partners to ensure a unified approach to tax analysis and reporting is maintained.
  • Recommends enhancements to and assists with implementation of processes, policies, procedures and best practices.
  • May conduct and/or assist with inter-period tax provision and allocation under ASC 740 (fka FAS 109/FIN48) standards, record temporary and permanent differences in income for financial and tax purposes, and maintain deferred tax calculations.
  • May provide in-depth analyses and reporting related to mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures.
  • May research and analyze expatriate tax implications and report to management and business partners.
  • Participates and/or leads in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
About you

EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related tax accounting/analytical experience required.  Equivalent combination of nine (9) years of post-high school education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.  International tax accounting experience highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply tax-related international, federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations, such as Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR).
  • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize financial reporting and tax accounting systems and tools, such as Oracle, RIA Checkpoint and Corptax.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
